The Heritage and Visitor Centre is situated in the centre of Longridge by the old Preston and Longridge Railway line, which operated from 1840 to 1967. The former station has been thoughtfully converted to house the Heritage and Visitor Centre, along with a cafe and meeting rooms for hire.
The Heritage and Visitor Centre is a great place to visit to gather information about Longridge and the surrounding area – you can find out about Longridge’s fascinating history; browse the old photographs on the Town Archive; or view one of our regularly changing exhibitions. Talks on local heritage topics are also held during the year and details are shown under Events & Exhibitions in the menu above.
Longridge Heritage Centre Trust is the custodian of the Town Archive, which consists of photographs, sound recordings and documents that provide a fascinating insight into the rich history of Longridge. The Town Archive is accessible online or it’s possible to obtain a print of any original photograph at the Heritage and Visitor Centre for a small charge.
